After visiting Nagcarlan, Liliw, Majayjay and Lucban in Quezon Province, our final stop was in Kamayan sa Palaisdaan Restaurant Hotel & Resort in Tayabas City.

It was just the first day of PHILTOA Southern Tagalog FAMTOUR but it felt like I’m traveling with friends I’ve known for years. Traveling with PHILTOA officers, travel agents and fellow travel writers is something that I will never get tired off. It really feels good to travel with people with the same passion to travel, explore and discover food, culture and traditions that is unique to each destination.
Rooms at Kamayan sa Palaisdaan Resort
It was around 10pm when we arrived at Kamayan sa Palaisdaan. The organizers decided to book our accommodation in Kamayan since our next day activity is already near the place. I was born and raised in Tayabas City but I was really not aware that Kamayan sa Palaisdaan offers accommodation.
Fresh Pako Salad with tomatoes and salted egg
We were about to call it a night but since the resort staff invited us for a midnight snack, most of us gathered at the lobby for free WIFI connection and to enjoy the free Yema Cake, Leche Flan, Ube Halaya and overflowing Coffee and tea courtesy of Kamayan sa Palaisdaan.
The rooms are actually spacious but its quite far from the front office. They have 22 rooms / villas and all guests are given complimentary WIFI access at the hotel lobby. Our room has two beds and it has clean restroom with complimentary toiletries and towels.

Kamayan sa Palaisdaan is probably the best restaurant in Quezon Province offering the best local cuisine. It was the first restaurant in the region who offered dining in a floating bamboo cottage atop a tilapia fish pond.

The next morning, we woke up early for the early checkout and breakfast at the hotel. For breakfast, we had fresh pako salad with tomatoes and salted egg, longganisang lucban, fried tilapia and other local dishes. They also served Yema Cake for dessert. Yema Cake is a famous local dessert made from layers of chiffon cake with milk custard frosting.
