AirAsia Advisory — Whenever a person travels from one place to another, there would be times that bringing things with them, either as a souvenir or as presents, is almost expected. Different things have been brought on airplanes and as you know, a lot of things are not allowed to be carried in the cabin. Although some items are allowed to be placed in the passengers checked-in baggage, some items are totally banned.

Back in May, the importation of Pork products from China was already in place due to the fear of the African Swine Flu. This issue also blew up as it affected a certain Chinese luncheon meat brand which was pulled from stores, and it was also in the news when a person was caught in the airport attempting to smuggle cans of the said brand into the country.
There has been an announcement from AirAsia that is related to this. The government of Bohol in the Philippines has just announced an import ban for all pork and pork-related products due to the African Swine Flu. This also includes anything that comes either via air or sea.

With this announcement, AirAsia is encouraging guests to dispose of the pork products that they may have in disposal bins in Panglao International Airport in Bohol. They can do so after they exit their airplane and as they get their luggage.
If you are unable to dispose of your pork product and if you are caught, you can be subject to penalties set by Philippine law.
The 100-day ban is set to be effective immediately starting August 21, 2019.
Not all pork products are banned, though. Any pork or pork-related products that need to enter Bohol needs to be screened and has the proper documentation from the Bureau of Animal Industry and the National Meat Inspection Service.
