Manila, Philippines — We don’t know how they do it, but every single year, they still manage to amaze us with their new technologies and gadgetries. Korean giant, Samsung, recently unveiled their latest gadgets to Pinoys at the swanky Grand Hyatt Hotel in BGC.
At the event, gadget geeks, Samsung, fans, and technophiles marveled at the new Samsung Galaxy Note 10, which, for the first time ever, now comes in two variants: the 6.3-inch Samsung Galaxy Note 10 and the 6.8-inch Samsung Galaxy Note 10+. Team Out of Town Blog, was invited to the event to witness the unveiling of the new flagship Samsung product.
Premium Specs
After being served dinner at the posh ballroom of the Grand Hyatt BGC, we were then treated to an extended overview of the new devices. Samsung executives, one by one, presented the new Note 10 and 10+ to the audience.
From the get-go, we know we want it.
While going thru the specs, Benson Galguerra, Samsung Philippines Marketing Head for IT & Mobile, shared his views on the growing and changing the mobile market in the Philippines.
“This ever-growing market of Filipino millennials have changed how we work. They refuse to be confined to a 9-to-5 desk job. They want to have the freedom to customize how they accomplish their tasks. This on-the-go lifestyle and pursuit of passion make the Galaxy Note10 the best device for these growing multi-hyphenates who make up the new work tribe.”
He then went on to demonstrate the Note 10 and 10+’s plethora of new features.
Most notable, again, is the line’s new direction – the two variants. Previously, there was only one variant in the Galaxy Note line; now, there’s two. The Galaxy Note 10 comes in a compact 6.3-inch screen, while the Galaxy Note 10+ features a 6.8-inch display. Both versions are sleek, slim, and easy to hold and carry.
The Galaxy Note 10 is made with an edge-to-edge and near bezel-less Infinity-O Display, perfect for Netflix binging. And of course, there’s the S Pen, which is unique among many smartphones in the market.
The S Pen is now even more advanced. Through air actions, users can control certain aspects of the device using gestures with the S Pen. The S Pen is also redesigned to further enable productivity.
Users can now create handwritten notes on their Note 10 and Note 10+ and have them instantly converted to digital text, which can then be exported to different formats including Microsoft Word.
Additionally, users can drag and drop files between the Galaxy Note10 and other devices through Samsung DeX. Those using Windows 10 PCs can integrate their smartphone and see notifications, send and receive messages, and view photos without having to lift their smartphone.
At the demo, the Samsung DeX also worked on a Macbook.
Advanced Camera
With all the new features, most people really care about one thing – is the camera good?
The answer is a resounding YES. The Galaxy Note 10 and Note 10+ has a new camera system with what they call a “pro-grade movie technology.”
The smartphone comes with a triple camera that creates professional-looking shots, even for non-pros. Its lenses include a 16MP Ultra Wide, a 12MP Wide-Angle, and a 12MP telephoto camera. The front camera, a discreet dot on top of the phone screen, is also powerful enough to satisfy the needs of selfie addicts everywhere.
Another notable feature is the phone’s ability to create a blurred or “bokeh” effect while taking videos. There’s also a Super Steady feature to reduce shaky recordings.
The new Note series comes with big batteries. The smaller variant has a 3,500mAh battery, while the bigger Galaxy Note10+ has a whopping 4,300mAh.
The phone also has a Super Fast Charging feature. This means that a 30-minute power-up can last the whole day, according to Samsung. Additionally, Wireless Power Share allows users to share the Galaxy Note10’s battery with Qi-compatible devices by placing them against the smartphone.
