After a long day of sitting around at work, there is nothing more relaxing than a good chair to lounge on to destress our bodies. This is where a brand like Ogawa comes in.

As a writer with strict deadlines, I often get told (by my mom, mostly) that sitting idly for long stretches at a time can cause harm to my health. She would say that it’ll increase my risk of getting heart disease, as well as high blood pressure and high cholesterol, among others.

I didn’t care about it at first if I am being honest. Truth be told, the only issue I have with my two-year-old Office Depot chair is the postural stress, specifically, pain on my upper back. That was until Ogawa.

Again on the topic of honesty, with my menial salary, I couldn’t quite possibly afford their chairs, but it’s been nice spending a couple of minutes in their kiosks wherein they let you sample their products. Only recently, they also opened a new branch at Ayala Malls Manila Bay.

Ogawa’s line of wellness products can’t do what a chiropractor or physiotherapist does, nor will it solve all your muscle issues if you have an underlying health problem. Ogawa makes products to ease relaxation and enjoyment.

The brand was established in 1996 by founders Wong Lee Keong and Lim Poh Kian. Since then, Ogawa has grown into the leading player in the design, development and marketing health and wellness equipment in Malaysia. In the local market, it is continuously offering its innovative Japanese technology to Filipinos with the opening of its new locations.

“Immersing one’s self in a healthy lifestyle and learning to relax can be life-changing. A nurtured mind and body are essential for one’s well-being as OGAWA strongly believes that everyone deserves to enjoy good health and to experience the art of wellness,” shares Marketing Manager for Ogawa Philippines Marianne Rodillo.

She added that for the Ayala Malls Manila Bay outlet, patrons are ushered into a tranquil place complemented by warm lighting—a space even for just a few minutes of relaxation where they can escape their hectic life.

Their range of products also has a host of features that could help you relax and be comfortable in, such as heat-enabled airbags that will help decrease joint stiffness and reduce muscles spasms, as well as a “Frequency Tapping” feature that will gently tap on the back of your thighs, all the way down to your calves.
