With the growing technology comes great improvement in connectivity. Even if the 5G era is still approaching, OPPO has already created a prototype 5G version of Find X, its flagship smartphone. The new prototype was recently unveiled for the world to see in Guangzhou, China.

During the revelation, OPPO also announced its plan of working with top industry partners around the world to develop a new 5G ecosystem. The new Find X 5G Prototype is just one of the many other 5G products that OPPO will be introducing to the world for this year.

The OPPO Find X Flagship smartphone will lead the all-screen trend in the smartphone industry. OPPO will officially enter the Western European market, as the launch of the new Find X will enable the smartphone company to reach more consumers in more developed countries.

The OPPO Find X 5G Prototype captured a lot of attention from the attendees of the 2018 China Mobile Global Partners Conference. It boasts with an engineering sample Snapdragon 855 and X50 5G modem which offers outstanding 5G performance. During the said conference, OPPO, together with Qualcomm and Keysight Technologies Inc., a world-leading electronic measurement company, demonstrated to the attendees how 5G data connectivity and applications, which includes online video replay, browsing, and video calling, can be used using the Find X 5G Prototype.

Speaking at the 2018 China Mobile Global Partners Conference is the OPPO Global Vice President and President of China Business, Brian Shen, who said, “We are confident OPPO will be one of the first companies to launch commercial 5G smartphones in 2019.” As a pioneer in the 5G era, OPPO has been working on 5G standards, product R&D and the exploration of applications since early in 2015 and has made a series of leading achievements. In May 2018, OPPO completed the world’s first 5G 3D video call featuring structured light technology and proposed the concept of “Ubiquitous Reality.”

OPPO is the first company to complete a 5G Internet Access test on a smartphone last October. It completed on the world’s first 5G singling and data connections on a smartphone the same year. The company’s latest 5G milestone was last November 30th when it made the world’s first multiparty video call on a smartphone powered by the 5G network.

OPPO also introduced the concept of 5G+, believing that the 5G+ era will be the era when everyone can connect everything and the experience will be a king.

“The smartphone will be at the core of a wide range of smart devices, which will all be connected through the 5G network. To address the areas of ‘smart health’ and ‘smart home’, OPPO has already begun work on several smart devices, exploring the intersection of 5G and cutting-edge technologies, and is collaboratively building a 5G+ innovation ecosystem with the entire industry,” Shen added.

“OPPO will drive the advancement of 5G together with AI, Big data and Cloud Computing (5G + ABC), making smartphones and smart devices true ‘intelligent personal assistants’, said Levin Liu, Head of OPPO Research Institute. “We believe that rich 5G application scenarios and killer 5G applications will emerge in the future, bringing disruptive experiences to users” Liu added.

In building a 5G ecosystem, OPPO will continue to deepen its collaboration with Qualcomm, telecom service providers, network infrastructure manufacturers, and other supply chain partners. OPPO will continue to work with telecom service providers around the world to accelerate the commercialization of 5G devices and to build a new ecosystem for the 5G industry.
