Lunch at Wild Rocket Singapore

Food is probably one of the reasons why I want to visit Singapore. If you don’t then you probably look like one of those tiny waif-like supermodels, but even them loves food, they just don’t keep it down. Enough of that though. We all love food.

And one of the best things about food is the way that it is constantly changing and being prepared in new ways. There’s a reason foodie shows have taken over the airwaves. Singapore is a hotbed for modern food. With a diversity of cuisines and a plethora of celebrity chefs, there are new things coming out of the kitchen in any Singapore restaurants all the time. And for me no kitchen is hotter than Wild Rocket.

Serving up what they call “Mod Sin” cuisine, this is food inspired by the traditional foods of Singapore and made modern, hence “Modern Singapore”. Hanker for some comfort food?

Try the Burmese tomato soup and Blue Swimmer Crab Salad. If that’s not comforting, nothing is. Or maybe you want to go more inspired? Why not try the Lake Pesto with Tiger Prawns in Kuah Pie Tee Shel? Now, that’s some Mod Sin that you can feel guilty and good about!

It doesn’t matter if you are looking for pasta, seafood, or sweets – you will find them infused with the flavors of old Singapore. The Seafood Crustacean Seabass with Sakura Ebi is like something straight from Lee Kuan Yew’s table. Furthermore, the Roast Chilean Seabass with Chai Poh Confit on Light Congee is what great seafood is suppossed to be all about.

These are just a few samples from the menu and believe me, there is much, much more. You know me though, I have a special kind of sweet tooth and the thing that made me crazy was the Pandan Infused Panna Cotta with Gula Melaka! It’s a sweet and creamy dream that goes down the hatch faster than you can desire since you want to just go on and on enjoying it. Still, the memory…

Wild Rocket is located in the Hangout Hotel in Mount Emily. 10A Upper Wilkie Road in Singapore. Their telephone number is(65) 6339 9448 and like everyone these days, you can find them on Facebook too. Now, if you are in Singapore then you are lucky, just pick up the phone and make that reservation, you won’t be disappointed. definitely not:)
