Manila, Philippines — Not so long ago, the phreatic eruption of the Taal Volcano has made headlines in different media platforms. The event affected over 26,000 individuals who were housed in various evacuation centers.

Quite a few evacuees lose their homes as well as livelihoods.
Given the said situation, LG Philippines immediately responded and did its part to lend a helping hand in a bid to alleviate the living conditions of the victims.
It is aligned with the company’s mission to always give back to the community.
For four days that started last Jan. 21, the firm made a visit to the main evacuation centers in the Taal area. There, it staged its popular Laundry Love program.

Specifically, evacuees in the following areas were benefited: Alfonso Central School for the first two days, Kaylaway National Highschool, as well as DOH Rehab Center the next days.
The firm brought 10 heavy-duty washing machines. This is so to help evacuees have access to clean their clothing.
On top of the Laundry Love campaign, the firm also carried out medical missions in the place to provide optical and physical checkups to the evacuees.
That’s not all LG provided, it also treated children temporarily living in the evacuation centers with entertainment and fun games. It set up a Netflix viewing station that comes with two LG UHD TVs and coloring activities. Plus, it also gave out cotton candies and popcorn so that they will enjoy.
“Our heart is with the Filipino people. Corporate Social Responsibility is the backbone of what we do at LG,” said Inkwun Heo, the Managing Director of LG PH. “We sincerely hope that the worst is over for the Taal community, but rest assured that LG will always be there to help in any way we can.”
