Les Miserables Manila Coming This March 2016 with Rachelle Ann Go as Fantine
Boublil & Schönberg’s 19th-century-France-themed musical Les Miserables will start its Asian Tour in Philippines this March 2016, and Rachelle Ann Go will be playing as Fantine together with other Les Miserables Cast.

“I welcome the new production of Les Miserables to Manila for the first time, and I’m certain that Filipino audiences will be thrilled to see this much-loved and celebrated show at The Theatre at Solaire,” Concertus Manila President Bambi Rivera-Verzo said in an earlier report.
Cameron Mackintosh, the producer behind the remake of the classic musical, has been touring Les Miserables from Melbourne, Perth, and in Sydney.
“I’m delighted to be bringing this new version [of Les Miserables] to Manila in March, with a wonderful cast that includes[s] the current London star playing Fantine, acclaimed Philippine actress Rachelle Ann Go—who received enormous acclaim when I took her to London to appear as ‘Gigi’ in my hugely successful new production of ‘Miss Saigon’,” Mackintosh said in an earlier report.
Les Miserables Manila will also include Australian Helpmann award-winning Simon Gleeson, who will play as Jean Valjean. On the other hand, Broadway actor Earl Carpenter will play as Javert.

Les Miserables 2015 Tour, which was based on Victor Hugo’s classic novel, has been turned into a blockbuster musical which was translated in 22 languages and shown across 42 countries. This 2016, Filipino audiences can expect to hear live Les Miserables’s famous soundtracks On My Own, Do You Hear the People Sing, One Day More, and I Dreamed a Dream, among others.
“Having created my new production over five years ago to celebrate the 25th anniversary of Les Miserables Musical, I’m both thrilled and astonished that the very differently designed, new production of this musical has proved just as successful all over the world as the original production that is about to celebrate its 30th anniversary in London,” Mackintosh said.
