Last March, I was able to enjoy an overnight stay at Pico Sands Hotel with my fellow foodies. Apart from experiencing the hotel best-in-class facilities and modern amenities, we also sampled some of the best tasting dishes at Pico Restaurant & Bar.
Sinigang na Hipon sa Manga
Pico Sands Hotel is part of Hamilo Coast – a sprawling seaside sanctuary that is envisioned to become the premier sustainable beach resort town of the Philippines.
Its my third time staying at the resort so you probably know how much I love the property. Instead of providing you a review of the resort and its amenities, let me just share to you some of my favorite dishes at Pico Restaurant.
Papa al Pomodoro – is a Tuscan soup prepared with fresh tomatoes, bread, olive oil, garlic, basil, and other fresh ingredients that may vary.
Calamares
Calamares – batter coated fried squid rings served with a special sauce.
Risotto Prawns
Risotto Prawns – creamy mushroom rice topped with sauteed spinach and grilled tiger prawns.
Rosemary Chicken
Rosemary Chicken – roasted chicken served with rosemary garlic gravy and seasonal vegetables.
Grilled Hungarian Sausage
Grilled Hungarian Sausage – served with bell peppers and onions in a thick, savory sauce.
Shrimp Wrapped in Bacon
Shrimp Wrapped in Bacon – served with barbecue sauce. Double the sin, Twice the fun. A not to be missed dish!
Beef Tenderloin Salpicao
Beef Tenderloin Salpicao – Beef Tenderloin sautéed with garlic, red wine served with vegetables and mashed potatoes.
Pasta with Bagnet – a tomato based pasta with tiny bits of Killer Bagnet!
Bulalosso
Bulalosso – their version of osso bucco. It’s slowly cooked to perfection.. Good for sharing.
Sinigang sa Manga – Shrimps Soup using Green Mango as souring agent with local vegetables with taro to thicken the sauce.
My favorite Callos
Callos – my all time favorite dish made from Ox tail and tripe stewed in tomato sauce with chorizo, bell pepper, green olives and garbanzos.
Bangus Belly Steak – a well marinated milkfish topped with onions and garlic.
Pico Restaurant & Pico Bar are open 24 hours for all guests staying at the hotel.
Hamilo Coast is just an hour and a half drive from SM Mall of Asia via the Cavitex-Ternate-Nasugbu route.
