Manila, Philippines — The ARCHIPELAGO Philippine Ferries Corporation (APFC) has great news for those who wish to head to El Nido and Coron from Batangas. It has recently introduced its newest routes: from Batangas to Coron as well as from Coron to El Nido and vice versa.
However, it has not announced the fare prices and schedule for the said routes.
What’s also great news is that the APFC has inaugurated its new state-of-the-art vessel named FastCat M15.
What’s good about this brand new vessel is that the FastCat M15 comes with improved facilities, upgraded amenities, higher horsepower, and newer navigational system. Moreover, it touts to carry 7-8 trucks or buses and 34-40 cars. It also has 160 seating capacity for its passengers.
To date, it is offering nine routes and has 12 vessels.
Here are the different routes offered by FastCat to its consumers: Iloilo – Bacolod; Blulacao – Caticlan; Batangas – Calapan; Cebu – Tubigon; Dumaguete – Dapitan; San Carlos – Toledo; Matnog – Dapdap; Liloan – Lipata; and Matnog – San Isidro.
“We want to open the route hopefully before December, tinatapos na lang ang kalye sa Coron but the port is finished already both in El Nido and Coron,” said Christopher S. Pastrana, CEO and President of APFC.
Pastrana added that the route from Mindoro to Coron and El Nido is going to be at three to four times every week.
He also believes that the route will help in lessening the cost of the transportation of agricultural products that come from Mindoro to Palawan and vice versa – thanks to the roll-on, roll-off system.
Because of the four times every week schedule of the Ro-Ro, the trade of Mindoro and Palawan will be strengthened, he said.
“Mas mapapdali ang access ng mga agricultural products ng Mindoro to Palawan, the same time yung produkto naman ng Palawan pwede dalhin all the way to Manila and Batangas,” he said.
FastCat is very popular because of its one-of-a-kind vessel.
