Albay and some parts of Bicol Peninsula and the island provinces of Masbate and Catanduanes are host to some of these tour packages.

Along with other media practitioners and members of PHILTOA, we arrived in Legaspi International Airport in Albay early morning of July 26, 2013. From the airport, we proceeded to Sorsogon to visit EDC-Bacman Geothermal Power Plant.

Aside from Eco-friendly facility of EDC-Bacman Geothermal Plant, we also visited some of the tourist spots located within the Bacman Ecopark such as the Botong Twin Falls, Butterfly farm and mini zoo that houses exotic birds, deers and wild boars.

Bacman Ecopark is located between Bacon in Sorsogon and Manito Town in Albay. This Ecopark is a joint effort of EDC Bacman, the local government and community to preserve more than 25,000 hectares of forest reserves.

After visiting the Eco-park, we headed to Sirangan Beach Resort for a resort inspection and snacks. Sirangan Beach Resort is considered as the best beach front resort in Sorsogon City. It has an outdoor infinity pool, a spa, recreation center and well appointed rooms named after the materials that is mainly used in the room.

All large rooms at the Resort have air conditioning, a DVD player, a TV and a mini bar. The resort has its own on-site restaurant, perfect for guests wishing to dine in. In the evening, guests are invited to enjoy a drink in the resort’s cozy lounge bar.

It was almost dark when we left the resort and headed to Inko Hotel to freshen up for cocktails and dinner. The evening meal was hosted by Sorsogon Provincial Administrator “Bobet Lee Rodrigueza” at Siama Hotel. It was a night of good music and sampling of flavorful Bicolandia Cuisine. Imagine a long buffet table complete with Pinangat, Laing, Bicol Express, Lechon, Pinais, steamed crabs, lobsters and more.

Siama Hotel is an upcoming first class boutique hotel in Sorsogon owned and developed by Multi-awarded Filipino Interior Designer Milo C. Naval. I cant wait to go back and visit this hotel once it’s opened to the public. After the program, we headed back to Inko Hotel to rest for our early morning activity in the province of Sorsogon.
