Craft 1945 Restaurant in Baguio City
Table of Contents
Baguio is known for its tall pine trees down the side of the road, cool breeze, and slopey hills. Aside from the cool weather and beautify scenery, the city is also a well-known food trip destination with numerous bars, cafes, and restaurants to choose from, you will never go hungry in the City Pines. And there is a new player in town offering authentic Spanish dishes and German-inspired craft beers. On your next visit to Baguio City, you may want to check out Craft 1945.
Craft 1945 has cozy interiors built in an old house. They retained the look of the house’s exterior which gives off that old Baguio feels. Here you can indulge in your favorite Spanish meals while enjoying its peaceful and instagrammable ambiance.
Here are some of their mouth-watering dishes that I recommend for you to try. These are guaranteed to be yummy and filling.
Mini pandesal (traditional Filipino bread)
These mini pandesals are served with butter. They are small but surprisingly filling and delicious so go easy on it, or you may become too full to try other dishes.
Another appetizer you may try is an all-time favorite, Calamares.
For our main course, try one of their bestsellers Paella Valenciana. It’s a hearty Spanish rice meal with chorizo, fresh seafood, housemade chorizo, pork and chicken seasoned with paprika cooked over a slow fire.
Sizzling with all that flavourful ingredients of chopped liempo, housemade chorizo, and pork ears in oil and fresh garlic. A Filipino-Spanish fusion dish that you will surely love.
Succulent shrimps filled with spicy, garlicky sauce – a Casa Marcos classic.
I also highly recommend their Kalderetang Baka. It is slow-cooked making it more flavourful and the meat, tender.
Carmen’s Best Salted Caramel Ice Cream
To satisfy your sweet tooth, order a Carmen’s Best ice cream. Trust me when I say that you should never skip this dessert, particularly the salted caramel flavor.
If you’re wondering why they’re offering Carmen’s Best, it’s because this brand is 100% craft, which stays true to Craft 1945’s branding. I remember on our last visit here with my other blogger friends during the Azalea Baguio Fam Tour, Carmen’s Best was something we really looked forward to.
Should you want a different cuisine, for example, a vegetarian option, let them know of your preference so they can recommend the best dish for you.
If you’re lucky, you may even chance upon a music artist performing while you enjoy your food. Craft 1945 sometimes have acoustic bands around to serenade their diners.
A dining experience at Craft 1945 won’t be complete without trying their craft beers. We were able to have a sip of some of their best offerings with the help of the very charming Mr. Darreen. As he presented the beers, he explained to us how each one differs from another as well as the variety of tastes.
The beers at Craft 1945 are inspired by the German way of crafting beers, using only 3 main ingredients, water, yeast, and barley.
Let’s begin with
- Anomaly – citrus sweet, contains 6% alcohol
- English man – bittersweet caramelized and pale, contains 6% alcohol
- Pugaw – 7%
- Hop attack – 8% alcohol
- Zigzagger – 10% alcohol, has an orange peel aftertaste
- Razz Stour – 9% alcohol
- Strawberry and Kiwi – fruit-flavored beers that are both sweet and contain only 5% of alcohol
When asked what is their best craft beers, Darreen said, “Well, it always depends on your fancy. Some beers may be good for your taste and some may not, so, all up to you.”
