Discovery Suites Manila Hotel Review
I can’t recall how many times I have visited Discovery Suites Manila (hotel info) to attend corporate events. Still, I haven’t tried staying overnight yet. Until last month, their PR team contacted me and said that the Discovery Suites Manila was inviting few bloggers to experience the hotel, its food, and amenities, and asked if I can go.
Well, I had a lot of second thoughts since it was such a busy week for me. Asides, I don’t usually attend events or accept invitations after a long trip to focus on writing and finishing my backlogs. Still, then I realized I can work inside the hotel while enjoying its amenities, right? So I grabbed the opportunity and immediately confirmed my attendance!

Location
It is only an hour to an hour and a half drive away from Ninoy Aquino International Airport (depending on the traffic). It is located right in front of The Podium Shopping Mall and within walking distance from SM Megamall and Robinsons Galleria.
Arrival
Upon arrival at the hotel, I was able to get my room key cards and was escorted by the hotel staff to my luxurious Junior Suite. The Check-in process was seamless, and it was a good way to welcome its guests.
After checking in, I was very thrilled to see what my room could offer. So, I immediately entered my room, placed my bag on the luggage stand, and went straight to the writing desk. My eyes wowed in surprise when I saw a framed photo of mine placed on top of the desk, and it instantly reminded me of my personal desk at home. That very moment, I immediately felt that I’m at home.
Apart from the photo frame, they also have a pillow with my name on it, which reminds me of my Grandmother, who gave me a similar white pillow with my name embroidered. To be honest, I have stayed in many suite rooms on my previous trips, but this room stands out. And what made this room stand out? The personal touch they put on it made me feel that I’m home away from home.
My Room
My well-appointed Junior Suite Room was really spacious, with its area averaging 40-45 square meters.
It is an elegant studio-style guest accommodation furnished with a queen-sized bed with clean white linen paired with four huggable pillows, a writing desk, a two-seater sofa and coffee table, and a spacious toilet and bath. Also, it has a telephone with extensions for the writing desk, bedside table and bathroom is available, as are cable television, a mini-bar, microwave oven, oven toaster, and a coffee machine.
But what I love most about it was that it has a sofa area with a small table complete with a coffee table book, a bottle of wine, and individual plates with nuts, fruits, and pastries. The plate of assorted cheese and a bottle of wine completed my day!
Talking about the bathroom, it is huge too. In fact, its size was as big as my room in Japan. I like the fact that the bathroom is very organized with good lighting. Apart from the hot and cold shower area, it also has a bathtub. It is also complete with high-quality toiletry with all kinds of towels and bathrobes. Although I rarely use bathrobes, I still love to see bathrooms with bathrobes in them. For me, it makes the bathroom more luxurious.
A closet was also located near my door, which has a steam iron, ironing board, in-room safe, bathrobes, and laundry bags. There’s also a mini kitchen with complimentary water, coffee, and tea. Giving me more reasons not to leave my room!
Food
Of course, food should never be forgotten in staying in a place. In Discovery Suites Manila, breakfast and lunch are available at Restaurant 5 from 6:00am to 10:30am. Their breakfast buffet spread has impressive selections such as French toast, hash brown, crispy bacon strips, cereal, yogurt, fruit juices, freshly cooked eggs, pancakes, steamed and fried rice, and other Filipino favorite dishes. Complimentary Coffee, tea, and hot chocolate is also served. There was a salad bar with cold cuts and cheeses.
Overall, my experience in Discovery Suites Manila (check reviews) was superb! Discovery Suites is a perfect staycation spot for those who want to have a weekend break in the Metro.
