Kawit Celebrates Christmas with a Historical Touch #PaskongKawiteño #TaraSaKawit
Cavite, Philippines — If you wish to celebrate the true spirit of a Filipino Christmas with the most special people in your life, it is a very good idea to visit Kawit, Cavite.
There is no denying that Kawit has etched a significant part in Philippine history and, definitely, this place is the one that you must also visit this Christmas season.

Home to a Multitude of Historic Sites
Kawit is undoubtedly among the most popular historic sites in the country. It hosts a slew of important sites in the Philippine history, including the Aguinaldo Shrine – the place where the flag that we know at present was first waved publicly. It is where the Philippine Independence was publicly announced by the first president of the country, Emilio Aguinaldo.

If you are with your kids, it is a perfect spot to know the life of the first president of the country, especially during the revolution era.

Here, you can also find the “Museo ni Baldomero Aguinaldo” hailed towards the grandfather of Cesar Virata – the prime minister in the 1980s – and the cousin of the first president.
Crafts and Delicacies
Apart from historical sites, Kawit is also popular among tourists as the home to rich crafts and delicacies, which include the Pandayan or the local blacksmithing shop. Here, you can buy bolos and knives that are made in a similar way during the Revolutionary era.

Of course, since it’s Christmas season, it is perfect to try out the Puto Bumbong or rice cake that has shaved coconut and muscovado sugar.
Oh, by the way, back in Dec. 14, the place had a Christmas lighting event through a spectacular display of lights at the Aguinaldo Shrine as well as Freedom Park. Guests and celebrities graced the event. There were also lighting of the Christmas lights and fireworks display at the Freedom Park.

Again, if you wish to enjoy Christmas with a touch of history, Kawit, Cavite is the perfect place to visit with your family or friends. Happy Christmas!
