Cebu Pacific receives new aircraft from French Airbus factory with new livery

Last January 22, 2016, Cebu Pacific received a new aircraft from the Airbus factory based in Toulouse, France. The delivered aircraft, Airbus A320, is the first aircraft to be delivered to the Philippines’ leading carrier this year.

“As we look to celebrate the airline’s 20th anniversary this year, we proudly welcome this addition to our fleet which features Cebu Pacific’s new logo,” Cebu Pacific Vice President for Corporate Affairs, Atty. JR Mantaring, said in a statement.

The new Airbus A320’s livery features Cebu Pacific’s new logo and theme released June last year, showcasing beautiful hues of yellow, sky blue, and white, akin to the colors of the bright sky. This theme, according to a statement, was based on “the country’s land, sea, sky, and sun”. The Airbus A320 is also equipped with the French Airbus factory’s Sharklet technology, devices installed on the tips of the aircraft’s wings to save fuel.

“The plane’s refreshed livery signifies the airline’s growth and evolution from pioneering low-cost travel in the Philippines, to successfully growing its flight operations across key domestic and international markets today,” Atty. Mantaring added.

Aside from Airbus A320, Cebu Pacific is scheduled to receive another Airbus delivery from the French company before the end of January. This expected delivery and the newly-received Airbus A320 will add to Cebu Pacific’s huge collection of Airbus carriers, which currently includes 8 Airbus A319, 35 Airbus A320, six Airbus A330, and eight ATR 72-500 aircraft.

Cebu Pacific is known for having the youngest aircraft fleet in the world, with an average age of just 4.69 years. The Philippine carrier also intends to maintain such reputation, as it is again set to receive at least three new aircraft deliveries between the years 2016 through 2021. The three prospective additions to Cebu Pacific’s fleet will include an Airbus A320, 30 Airbus A321neo, and a 16 ATR 72-600 aircraft.

Cebu Pacific is the largest airline in the Philippines with 28 international destinations, and six local networks. Cebu Pacific also offers several flight promos throughout the year during peak seasons, and sponsors backpacking contests as well.
