BONO Gelato is the People’s Choice at the Gelato World Tour 2015

Home-grown BONO Artisanal Gelato wowed the crowd at Marina Bay Sands in Singapore during the Gelato World Tour held on March 20-22, 2015. The 3-year-old frozen treats maker represented the Philippines and made it to the Top 16 finalists in Asia Pacific. More importantly, it was given the People’s Choice award for its delectable Mango Ube Symphony.

The Gelato World Tour is an event organized by the Carpigiani Gelato University and Sigep-Rimini Fiera. Its main purpose is to recognize the best artisanal chefs in the world and showcase the tastes and flavors of Italian-style artisanal gelato. Those who visited during those three days were treated to free seminars and training on gelato making, and were invited to vote for their favorite flavors. And they chose BONO Gelato.

BONO is derived from the Italian buono which means “good,” and they did not lie. Chief R&D of BONO Gelato Zarah Zaragoza-Manikan demonstrated how to use of common ingredients of the Philippines – in this case purple yam jam and rum-soaked dried mango – to make a truly unique and irresistible gelato that would excite international fervor. How much more patriotic can you get?
