Despite various names, What makes this Ivatan sari-sari store interesting? No one looks after the merchandise so each customer is pretty much free to move inside the store. Everyone is expected to be honest, the store owners trust the people enough to allow them to list the products they bought along with its corresponding price and then leave the payment in a drop box. You can find an interesting sign on the wall that says “This store is too small for dishonest people,”.

  1. @admin: I just have to say your site is the first I’ve come across today that doesn’t have spelling errors every other sentence. Thank you for taking the time to construct something that doesn’t look like a 6th grader wrote. I apologize, just had to vent.

  2. natawa naman ako sa “God knows Hudas not pay” but seriously, the concept of the Honesty Coffeeshop is admirable. There are a number of establishments in other countries that employ the same concept and they all give us a reason to restore our faith in people.
