2022 Bangkok Travel Requirements For Foreign Tourists

Before the new Bangkok entry requirements were introduced on May 01, 2022, international travelers may visit Bangkok through the TEST&GO Program, Blue Zone Sandbox Program, and the Alternative Quarantine Program.

After May 01, the travel requirements to enter Thailand decreased.

The COVID-19 insurance was reduced to $10,000 from the previous $20,000. Unvaccinated Travelers can enter Bangkok Thailand through the 5-Day Alternate Quarantine Program or the No Quarantine Program if they upload a pre-departure RT-PCR Test into their Thailand Pass application that is not older than seventy-two (72) hours. Fully Vaccinated Travelers no longer need to participate in the TEST&GO Program and Blue Zone Sandbox Program and have now been replaced with the No Quarantine Program.

However, all international travelers must still have an approved Thailand Pass.

List Of Travelers Allowed to Enter

  1. Fully Vaccinated Thai nationals and non-Thai nationals
  2. Unvaccinated or Partially Vaccinated Thai nationals and non-Thai nationals
  3. Tourists
  4. Transit travelers who will be traveling outside Thailand
    • Transit travelers are only allowed to stay in Thailand for a maximum of twenty-four (24) hours

List of Updated Bangkok Travel Requirements

For Fully Vaccinated Travelers

  1. Thailand Pass (via consular.go.th/)
  2. Valid Passport
  3. COVID-19 Vaccination Certificate
  4. (For non-Thai travelers) COVID-19 insurance of $10,000
  5. COVID-19 tests are no longer required

For Unvaccinated or Partially Vaccinated Travelers

Unvaccinated or Partially Vaccinated travelers have two options to enter Thailand:

  1. No Quarantine Program

For travelers who are able to present a negative RT-PCR Test Result released within seventy-two (72) hours prior to travel:

  1. Thailand Pass (via consular.go.th/)
  2. Valid Passport
  3. Negative RT-PCR Test Result released within seventy-two (72) hours prior to travel
  4. (For non-Thai travelers) COVID-19 insurance of $10,000

2. 5-Day Alternate Quarantine Program

For the travelers who are unable to present a negative RT-PCR Test Result released within seventy-two (72) hours prior to travel:

  1. Thailand Pass (via consular.go.th/)
  2. Valid Passport
  3. Confirmed Alternative Quarantine (AQ) hotel booking for 5 days
  4. (For non-Thai travelers) COVID-19 insurance of $10,000
  5. Must undergo an RT-PCR Test on days 4-5 of the mandatory quarantine during the mandatory 5-day quarantine at AQ hotel

Note per Philippine Airlines Advisory:

  • Travelers who cannot present their Thailand Pass are subject to TBH 20,000 to 40,000 fine.
  • Travelers who were previously infected with COVID-19 must present a Recovery Certificate certifying that the first date of detection is a least fourteen (14) days but no more than three (3) months from departure date and that they have fully recovered (for cases where test results turn out positive).
  • Travelers aged below 12: Can travel alone if they are fully vaccinated at least fourteen (14) days before travel. If not fully vaccinated, must travel with parents.
  • Travelers aged between 12-17: Can travel alone if vaccinated with at least one (1) dose of COVID-19 vaccine at least fourteen (14) days before travel. If unvaccinated must travel with their parents.
  • Travelers aged 18 and up: Must be fully vaccinated at least fourteen (14) days before travel.

Guests traveling from the Philippines to Bangkok are to follow these steps for entry:

Step 1: Register for your Thailand Pass here.

Please take note of the quarantine guidelines, based on the Thailand Pass:

  • Green = No Quarantine for fully vaccinated guests, based on Thailand’s Ministry of Health (MOH) standards.
  • Orange = No Quarantine, but a negative RT-PCR is required to apply for a Thailand Pass, for unvaccinated and partially vaccinated guests.

The Thailand Pass is valid for seven (7) days and guests whose travel is rebooked/rescheduled are not required to re-apply if the updated travel dates fall within the 14-day range. Step 2: Prepare the required documents:

For Thailand Passport Holders:

  • Passport
  • Certificate of Vaccination or negative Pro ATK / RT-PCR test result, issued within 72 hours before departure

For Foreign Nationals / non-Thailand Passport Holders:

  • Thailand Pass
  • Passport
  • Certificate of Vaccination or negative Pro ATK / RT-PCR test result, issued within 72 hours before departure (must be uploaded to get a Thailand Pass)
  • Proof of Insurance with at least 10,000 USD coverage for medical treatments in Thailand

Guidelines for guests traveling with unvaccinated children:

Children below six (6) years old:

  • Must travel with parents only
  • Vaccination and RT-PCR test are not required
  • COVID-19 Saliva Test upon arrival

Children from 6 to 11 years old:

  • Must travel with parents only
  • Vaccination is not required
  • Must present a negative RT-PCR test result pre-departure

Children from 12 to 17 years old:

  • Must present a negative RT-PCR test result pre-departure
  • Must travel with parents if not fully vaccinated
