Who will win the one million pesos worth of prizes, free trips, and mentoring program?
AirAsia released the five student finalists hailing from Manila, Baguio, Iloilo, and Cebu who will compete in the #AirAsiaCreateCamp. The CreateCamp is the airline’s social media reality search where young, creative, and aspiring students will showcase their best skills when it comes to photography and videography. The finalists will become part of AirAsia’s community of online storytellers.
#AirAsiaCreateCamp aims to develop and empower these young and talented individuals by providing them with mentoring workshops, technical know-how, and support. With more than 500 entries received online, when the initial judging started, the participants were narrowed down to 50. The judged choose the top 5 entries based on the following criteria: originality, creativity, and quality of storytelling.
The CEO of AirAsia Philippines, Captain Dexter Comendador stated, “We are amazed at the quality of work from these young talents and this competition highlights just how much talent and skills are just out there waiting to be discovered, supported, and be given a platform to shine. We are proud to bring finalists from Northern Luzon, Manila, and Visayas to compete for the first-ever social media reality show.”
The top 5 students named as the #AirAsiaCreateCamp finalists during a press event in Makati City are Paul Garrido from the MAPUA Institute of Technology, Beatrice Paragas of the University of the Philippines, Raymond Baguilat from the University of Baguio, John Paul Saluba from the University of Iloilo, and Angela Cara Durano from the De La Salle University-Cebu.
The finalists will travel to different parts of the Philippines such as Tacloban, Palawan, Bohol, and the Cordilleras region. They will undergo rigorous training and workshops for a month. They will also be mentored by AirAsia storytellers such as Ayen dela Torre, Benj Ramos, Enzo Cruz, Javi Can, Kyrke Jaleco, Neila Lomotan, Paolo Cuarteron, Patrick Martin, and Rachel Halili. Their journey will be documented and will be shared through the different social media platforms of AirAsia. The public can also take part in the contests as they have the power to vote for their favorite finalists.
The grand winner of the #AirAsiaCreateCamp will receive over 1 million worth of prizes which includes AirAsia Philippines flights to different domestic and international destinations, an Apple MacBook Pro 13, a Nikon D5600, fully sponsored three days and 2 nights stay at the Amorita Resort in Bohol, and will become an official member of the AirAsia Storytellers community.
