It was declared as an Eco-Tourism zone by the local government. One of the most popular tourist destinations in town is the Bulusan Volcano which towers at 1,565 meters above sea level and sprawls with a base area of approximately 400 kilometers.

At the foot of the volcano, you can then witness the magnificence of three adjacent lakes to the volcano, such as the Bulusan Lake, Lake Aguingay, which is located halfway to the volcano, and the Blackbirds Lake, which is close to the summit of the Bulusan Volcano.

How to get there

The fastest but more costly way to reach Bulusan from Manila would be by plane, which would take about an hour and a half from NAIA Terminal 1 to the Legazpi Airport in Albay. Then a taxi or bus from Legazpi to Bulusan would take another two hours. The entire trip could cost up to Php5000.

The cheapest way would be by bus. Several terminals and bus companies throughout Metro Manila depart once a day for a fare of about Php 850 to Php 1200. Popular bus stations include those in EDSA Cubao, Pasay City, Alabang, and Buendia.

Once you reach Sorsogon City, you can wait for a jeepney at the terminal in Sorsogon City’s public market. It would cost Php 20 to reach Gubat then another Php 40 to reach Bulusan. You can also ride a bus to Barcelona for a fare of Php30 then get to Bulusan for Php25.
