Taguig City, Philippines — This new dining hub in Asiatown, McKinley West also houses three restaurants that offer first-in-the-Philippines flavors from the region.

Megaworld Lifestyle Malls, a subsidiary of Megaworld Corporation and one of the largest shopping mall retailers in the Philippines, has opened Manila’s first AsiaTown, a food hub nestled along LeGrand Avenue.

Designed to showcase the rich culture of Asia and serve up specialty dishes from the region, AsiaTown features a diverse collection of different establishments that specialize in pan-Asian cuisine in an ambient park-like setting. The venue can also hold outdoor performances, weekly attractions from 5:00 pm onwards and will also feature art installations.

Here’s a look at nine of the restaurants (and a French luxury coffee chain) currently operating within the hub:

Rong Hua Bak Kut Teh serves signature bak kut teh or pork rib soup popular in Singapore. The originating roots of the restaurant can be traced all the way to the 1920s in the historical riverside quay of Char Jung Tao. Part of the restaurant’s Teochew heritage is embedded in their vast selection of soup specialties like Premium Loin Rib Soup, Pork Tenderloin Soup, Pig’s Tail Soup plus braised delicacies, vegetables and speciality dishes like Signature Braised Pig’s Trotters (Te Kah), Honey Baked Char Shao, Spinach With Top Shell Abalone, and Oyster Sauce Vegetables (Chye Xin).

Originally from Taiwan, this specialty drinks shop takes pride in serving freshly brewed tea leaves daily and using high-quality sugar canes in place of artificial fructose sweeteners. One of their best sellers is Black Sugar Healthy Grain with ground peanuts, walnuts, and black sesame as toppings. Other unique drink selections are Black Tea Macchiato, Blue Sky Bubble Soda, Black Frost Charcoal Cream, Black Sugar Choco Dirty Milk, Dirty Mango Macchiato.
