Christmas in the Philippines starts as early as September 4th! It begins up to one hundred days before December 25th so it isn’t the 12 days of Christmas…it’s the 101 days of Christmas! this may sound cheesy but the celebration begins with one of the world’s most beloved cheeses: Eden’s Sarap ng Pasko which starts the season with love and delicious tidings of joy.
In partnership with ABS-CBN network, Eden has kicked off a celebration they are calling 100 days and 100 dishes. Participating towns in the PI are having cook offs to see who can make the tastiest dishes from local products.

Each town is participating later to see which Filipino town has the tastiest dish in the nation. The results are used to feed the poor from churches and delight the palates of townsfolk. In past years, the celebration has had better than expected results with tens of thousands of people enjoying food, family, and fun. It’s never too early to highlight the joys and wonders of Christmas. This is especially true in the Philippines where the values of family and taking care of one another are among the strongest in the world.

It’s not just about the food though. The Christmas celebration is about uniting the diverse people and places of this country into a single body of love, sharing, and joy. As such, it is the hope of organizers that the Philippines can act as a light to the world.

The goal of Eden is to unite the country as a single family enjoying a Christmas feast together. The towns that were selected to participate range from popular to little known throughout the 7000 islands of the Philippines.
Of course, the ultimate effects of this will be felt further than just in the Philippines. The idea is that this wonderful event will inspire the entire world.
