Although I really love hanging out on the beaches, it’s hard for me to resist a challenge and so when I heard that it was possible to climb Boracay’s highest peak, Mt. Luho, I knew that it was something I had to do.

Bamboo made View Point
I found it to be not incredibly difficult but the scenery was truly mind blowing. From the top I was able to see the entire island of Boracay from the little viewing deck . A natural seeming staircase led us to the bamboo made and concrete view deck and I was able to see beautiful Bulabog Beach, Puka Beach, Ilig-Iligan Beach, and some of the gorgeous golf courses on Boracay too. There is something about sitting at the top of a mountain and looking down at the world that just feels so incredible! Read the full story

Soft-sanded beaches are bordered by numerous hotels, cafés, bars and restaurants - offering holiday-makers scintillating views of the sunset over the waters as they dine on alfresco restaurants offering local and international cuisine.

Jona shares her photo that was taken in Boracay.. “handsdown my ultimate favorite beach destinations.. What with the pristine white sand and very relax atmosphere.. I will never get tired visiting this island…” – Jona

Jona Alforque in Boracay
My fave restaurant in Boracay is Gasthof for it’s ribs and breakfast sets when I splurge and Smoke’s when I’m on scrimp mode.. Real Coffee for calamansi muffins and Jonah’s choco banana and peanut butter shake…
I love island hopping and paraw sailing too…plus massage on the beach offered by locals, but what I enjoy most is reading while sipping pina colada or any fruit shakes along the shore..
I’m about to visit Boracay again this April 17-19 and choose to stay at Le Soliel De Boracay Resort for it’s proximity to D’mall and happening places…

Congratulations Jona , you just won a copy of Jessica Zafra’s newest book Twisted 8 1/2

The Philippines’ premier tourism destination Boracay Island is experiencing a much-needed ‘makeover’ with the on-going comprehensive infrastructure program which will to provide100% water supply and sewerage coverage to the entire community.

Save Boracay Program!
Increased water efficiency will make a significant difference to the island, ensuring the availability of safe, potable water, and addressing the concern of water pollution, a concern in Boracay for sometime.

For so many certified sun- worshippers the world over, paradise goes by the name Boracay. For, indeed, many visitors have come back to the place year after year. Some have even chosen to live in this paradise island.
Boracay is still No. 1 on the Department of Tourism’s (DOT) list of destination for local and foreign travelers.
The sand is unique. Every particle that clings to your sun- drenched body is a spectacle of white coral and shell worn down by the powerful ocean currents.

Best Beach in the World
With every wave, sand is deposited on and removed from the shore. Boracay’s white beach is a delicate tribute to ecological balance. Keeping offshore coral communities retains its whiteness. It is white because there is neither quartz nor magnetite to stain the sand’s purity unlike in other beaches.
Tourism Secretary Joseph “Ace” Durano said Boracay is still on top of DOT’s list of top destinations. “The DOT has only meager resources to spend for tourism promotion, that is why we are focusing on the country’s top tourist hideaways, including Boracay. Read the full story

Carabao Island
2008 has been a busy year for me but unlike previous years, my out of town trips are fewer this year since I currently have a day job. I was able to visit Boracay and Baguio twice in the past couple of months, I also visited Davao for 2008 Kadayawan Festival, Cebu for the 2008 Pasigarbo sa Sugbo Festival, Batanes and several destinations here in Luzon.
This weekend, I’ll be flying to Boracay and stay for a night then the next day I’ll be visiting Romblon, particularly Carabao Island in San Jose to discover the different wonders of Romblon. Carabao Island is part of San Jose town located in the southernmost tip of Romblon. The Island is a 15-minute boat ride from the smaller but equally beautiful island of Boracay. The island has the same white-sand beaches and pristine waters that can be found in Boracay but the island offers more relaxed and laid-back atmosphere.
The island is also a divers paradise that offers beautiful unexplored dive spots like Lanas slope, West Wall, Devils Boulder, Gentle Wall, Tunnel Dive, Cathedral Cave, Channel Dive, Cemetery Wall, Village Reef and Lobster Wall. Read the full story
