The 30 Russians are part of a group of Russians who arrived in Boracay recently as part of the DOT’s campaign to promote tourism destinations in the country to European countries.

Kalibo officials are currently in the thick of preparations for the annual Ati-Atihan fest considered as the Mother of Philippine Festivals in the country. The tradition also known abroad as the “Philippine Mardi Grass Festival” is being held every third week of January.

The resort owner bared that this is the first time they knew of a group of Russians witnessing the annual Ati-Atihan fest.

This is a definite welcome for our country. Hopefully, these Russians will get to see how beautiful and safe it is to come to the Philippines.
