Monastery of the Transfiguration in Bukidnon

It was noon time when we left the Provincial Capitol ground after witnessing the last contingent’s presentation from the Kaamulan Festival Street Dancing competition. Since it was still early, we decided to explore Malaybalay Bukidnon and visit the Monastery of the Transfiguration.

I initially asked a local if the monastery is just near the City proper and he said “Yes!”, Well I usually get that answer in most of my out of town trips and unfortunately in most cases, their “that’s just near” answer is actually different from what we expected. To avoid any hassle, we rented a jeepney to avoid multiple transfers.

Bukidnon Monastery

From the Highway entrance, It took us almost 10 minutes before we reached the chapel. It was the same Chapel that I visited a couple of years back, nothing has changed but I liked it that way. The solemnity of the place makes it special and it gives more character to the place.

The Transfiguration Monastery in San Jose, Malaybalay City in Bukidnon is known for its pyramid chapel which is a popular destination for people who want to pray and for those who are seeking peace of mind and calmness of soul and spirit.

It was noon time but the wind was cold, calming and relaxing… No wonder… this is the place the monks chose to have their Monastery built.
