<p>It was exactly 8am when we left our hostel to visit our one and only pit-stop in Kidapawan &#8211; The Lake Agco. Our halal-habal driver was already in front of our hostel waiting for the two us and few minutes after, we started our habal-habal adventure. Our driver advised that we buy food in the city because food is quite expensive in the resort area.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-7329" title="Lake Agco in Kidapawan" src="http://outoftownblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/05/Lake-Agco-in-Kidapawan.jpg" alt="Lake Agco in Kidapawan" width="500" height="332" /><br />
<em><strong>Lake Agco trail in Kidapawan</strong></em></p>
<p>For the unfamiliar, Lake Agco is one of the main attraction in Kidapawan City. This place is located at the foot of Mount Apo in Ilomavis, Kidapawan City in Mindanao. It is a blend of calm lake and thick forests which make this a lovable place to visit and stay. The area where the lake is located is the Sacred Tribal and Ancestral Grounds of Manobo Tribes of Mount Apo.<span id="more-7297"></span></p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-7330" title="Bumpy Roads" src="http://outoftownblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/05/Bumpy-Roads.jpg" alt="Bumpy Roads" width="500" height="332" /><br />
<em><strong>Bumpy Roads</strong></em></p>
<p>There are areas that still has bumpy roads and travelers can have a really exciting ride in a habal-habal. It was an exciting ride for me since its been more than five years from the last time i had a habal-habal ride.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-7331" title="Banana Plantations" src="http://outoftownblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/05/Banana-Plantations.jpg" alt="Banana Plantations" width="500" height="332" /><br />
<em><strong>Banana Plantations</strong></em></p>
<p>It will take almost an hour to reach Lake Agco. Though some users can feel uncomfortable with the ride on the habal-habal, nobody will have an issue with the view they get on either side. Travelers are sure to get impressed with the scenic beauty of the trees as well as mountains. Along the way, we passed by scenic country side mostly covered with Banana, Mango, Durian and Rubber plantations.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-7332" title="Durian Tree" src="http://outoftownblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/05/Durian-Tree.jpg" alt="Durian Tree" width="500" height="332" /><br />
<em><strong>Durian Tree</strong></em></p>
<p>Mount Apo has been declared as a preserved area and is almost surrounded by mountain ranges. While traveling towards Lake Agco, visitors will be able to have a view of the Nipa huts where the locals live.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-7333" title="Mount Apo Souvenir Items" src="http://outoftownblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/05/Mount-Apo-Souvenir-Items.jpg" alt="Mount Apo Souvenir Items" width="500" height="332" /><br />
<em><strong>Mount Apo Souvenir Items</strong></em></p>
<p>The people here never wanted to move out of this place where their ancestors used to live. They deserve appreciation as they have maintained forests as well as greeneries in this mountain as it is. One of the unique features of this lake is that it is also known as boiling lake which means that the water in the lake will have a higher temperature.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-7334" title="Melo Villareal beside the Lake" src="http://outoftownblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/05/Melo-Villareal-beside-the-Lake-.jpg" alt="Melo Villareal beside the Lake" width="500" height="308" /><br />
<em><strong>Melo Villareal beside the Lake</strong></em></p>
<p>Travelers are not advised to swim in this lake. The lake is located almost 50 to 100 meters away from the resort. One of the main reasons of water having higher temperature is because Mount Apo is regarded as a Dormant Volcano. Visitors who wish to have mountaineering are allowed to climb the peak of the mountains which can also be seen from the resort.</p>
<p>There are Mountain resorts in Lake Agco. These resorts are mostly managed by a cooperative that comprises of different tribal members in that area. These resorts have rooms designed for a comfortable night stay. Another interesting feature in this resort is that they also provide camping sites for all those who love to have some adventure.</p>
<p>Other facilities inside the resort include the presence of a sari-sari store followed by a huge cold spring pool and several hot spring pools. Even spa is also available for the tourists in the resorts on demand.</p>

<p>Travelers are also allowed to bring their foods inside the resort since the resorts do not have any restaurant inside. Tourists can also shop in vendor stands that sell souvenir products and vegetables such as fresh sayote, kamote as well as other kinds of leafy vegetables.</p>
<p>For reaching Kidapawan City, travelers will have to board a bus or a van from Davao city or Cotabato City. There are routine bus services to Kidapawan from the bus terminal in both Cities. From Kidapawan City, It only takes almost 45 minutes to an hour to reach the Lake.</p>

<p>Fabulous, fearless, and female.</p>
<p>These are just some of the adjectives that describe the participants of Billabong’s All Girls Surf Camp this year. Held in San Juan Surf Resort in La Union, the activity is a milestone for the brand, whose stylish and edgy design philosophy has propelled it into international renown over the years.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-7028" title="Female Surfers with professional surf instructor Luke Landrigan" src="http://outoftownblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/04/Female-Surfers-with-professional-surf-instructor-Luke-Landrigan.jpg" alt="luke landrigan" width="495" height="330" /><br />
<em><strong>Female Surfers with professional surf instructor Luke Landrigan</strong></em></p>
<p>What made the 3-day surf camp even more memorable is that the ladies learned Surf 101 from Billabong team rider and professional surf instructor Luke Landrigan. The surf champ won numerous competitions for both short and longboarding in the country, emerging as the 2009 Champion of the Aurora Surf Cup Challenge, as well as the Nike 6.0 and Global Surf Industries Longboard Pro Invitationals “At Billabong, we don’t look at surfing as a sport. For us, it’s really a way of life,” says Freddy Gonzalez, President of Freesurf, Inc, the exclusive distributor of Billabong in the Philippines. “The surf lifestyle is all about being laid-back and open to new experiences, and for the participants of the first all girls surf camp, this is definitely something different and fun.”<span id="more-7027"></span></p>

<p>Aside from getting surf lessons from a bona fide surf pro, the participants also got to jam with DJs Niki Rojas and Joey Santos, whose unbelievable beats and smooth rhythms on the turntable have made them the toast of the local party scene. Aside from being excited to learn more about surfing and music, these femme fatales were also big fans of Billabong’s art-driven and functional designs.</p>

<p>Known for a variety of lifestyle clothing that ranges from jeans, tops, and stylish tees, to standout bikins, totes, and other accessories, Billabong has been the go-to brand for fashionistas and surf enthusiasts all over the world.</p>
<p>Billabong has certainly come a long way since its humble beginnings in 1973 when Australian surfer Gordon S. Merchant sold handmade boardshorts that suited the demands of fellow surfers. As the company grew, so did its product line. It is now available in numerous countries from North America, Australia, Europe, South Africa, South America, Brazil and Asia.</p>

<p>Its my second time to experience Sagada and although I haven&#8217;t been to some popular tourist spots in this town, let me share to you some of the interesting facts, best places to eat and top things to do in Sagada.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-6840" title="Sagada in Mountain Province" src="http://outoftownblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/04/Sagada-in-Mountain-Province.jpg" alt="Sagada in Mountain Province" width="500" height="753" /><br />
<em><strong>Sagada in Mountain Province</strong></em></p>
<p>As I previously mentioned in my <a href="http://outoftownblog.com/spending-holy-week-in-sagada/">2009 Sagada Holy Week post</a>, Ganduyan is the old name of this lovely town in Mountain Province. During the Martial Law, Sagada was the hideout of hippies, political activists and some artists. The place is not the only town named Sagada, there is also a town called Sagada in Dagestan Republic which is a part of Russia.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-6830" title="Church of St. Mary the Virgin" src="http://outoftownblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/04/Church-of-St.-Mary-the-Virgin.jpg" alt="Church of St. Mary the Virgin" width="500" height="301" /><br />
<em><strong>Church of St. Mary the Virgin</strong></em></p>
<p>Church of St. Mary the Virgin &#8211; This church was established by American missionaries and this is where the people of Sagada hear their Sunday Mass. The Church of St. Mary the Virgin is a vibrant Protestant Episcopal parish and the most visited church in Sagada. Sagada is the only town in the Philippines with only less than 5% catholic population.<br />
<span id="more-6787"></span></p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-6822" title="Etag in Sagada" src="http://outoftownblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/04/Etag-in-Sagada.jpg" alt="Etag in Sagada" width="500" height="332" /><br />
<em><strong>Etag in Sagada</strong></em></p>
<p>Try Etag &#8211; a smoked and sun dried pork meat that is best in soup like pinikpikan, monggo or even mixed vegetables.  This food is popular in Mountain Province and it is a significant part of local culture in Sagada, in fact the town is celebrating Etag Festival every February of each year.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-6823" title="Exterior Design of a House in Sagada" src="http://outoftownblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/04/Exterior-Design-of-a-House-in-Sagada.jpg" alt="Exterior Design of a House in Sagada" width="500" height="652" /><br />
<em><strong>Exterior Design of a House in Sagada</strong></em></p>
<p>House Exterior Designs in Sagada &#8211; More than 50% of the houses in Sagada are made of wood with huge wooden doors and rectangular windows in each side of the house but you will not notice that each house is made from wood because most of the houses in Sagada are covered by galvanized iron to protect the wood. Wood from Pine Trees are abundant in the area unlike hollow blocks and sand which is usually being bought from the low land.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-6824" title="Sagada Mountain Tea" src="http://outoftownblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/04/Sagada-Mountain-Tea.jpg" alt="Sagada Mountain Tea" width="500" height="281" /><br />
<em><strong>Sagada Mountain Tea</strong></em></p>
<p>Mountain Tea &#8211; One of my favorite past time in Sagada is drinking tea which is available in every cafeteria or restaurant in the area. It is best served with brown sugar and dayap (local lemon). The tea is made from local tea leaves harvested in Sagada. You can buy tea leaves in souvenir shops and some restaurants.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-6825" title="Lemon Pie with Brewed Coffee" src="http://outoftownblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/04/Lemon-Pie-with-Brewed-Coffee.jpg" alt="Lemon Pie with Brewed Coffee" width="500" height="753" /><br />
<em><strong>Lemon Pie with Brewed Coffee</strong></em></p>
<p>Try Lemon Pie at the Sagada Lemon Pie House &#8211; a popular tambayan in Sagada for their best mountain coffee and tea and their famous Lemon, Blueberry and Egg Pies. What i love is their free wifi, nice crowd and the <em>hippy</em>-like <em>atmosphere</em>.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-6831" title="Yogurt in Sagada" src="http://outoftownblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/04/Yogurt-in-Sagada.jpg" alt="Yogurt in Sagada" width="500" height="333" /><br />
<em><strong>Yogurt in Sagada</strong></em></p>
<p>Eat Yogurt &#8211; Dont waste your time taking chances to get some yoghurt in the Yoghurt House. Most of the restaurants in Sagada are also offering the same Yogurt. Try Rock Inn, <em>Masferre</em> Country Inn and Restaurant, Sagada Lemon Pie House and other small coffee shops.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-6826" title="Delicious Porkchop at Shamrock" src="http://outoftownblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/04/Delicious-Porkchop-at-Shamrock.jpg" alt="Delicious Porkchop at Shamrock" width="500" height="293" /><br />
<em><strong>Delicious Porkchop at Shamrock</strong></em></p>
<p>Dine in Shamrock Cafe &#8211; Located few steps away from the Municipal Town Hall, I became a huge fan of their fried pork chop meal.. So Crispy yet so tender and the meat is still juicy.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-6827" title="Pancake in Rock Inn" src="http://outoftownblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/04/Pancake-in-Rock-Inn.jpg" alt="Pancake in Rock Inn" width="500" height="333" /><br />
<em><strong><a href="http://pinoycravings.com/2009/04/banana-pancake-with-butter-and-strawberry-rock-inn-cafe/">Pancake in Rock Inn</a></strong></em></p>
<p>Pancakes in Rock Inn and Cafe &#8211; If you are like me who craves for Pancake anytime of the day, try visiting Rock Inn and Cafe &#8211; a tourist inn that has its own driveway and orange grove. Since this place is located outside the main town in Sagada, you have to walk for about 15 minutes but don&#8217;t worry, you will pass by some beautiful houses and the weather is cold while walking towards the place.. Forget the distance!</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-6828" title="My first ever Jump Shot" src="http://outoftownblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/04/Melo-Villareal-Jump-Shot.jpg" alt="My first ever Jump Shot" width="500" height="633" /><br />
<em><strong>My first ever Jump Shot</strong></em></p>
<p>Visit Echo Valley and see the Hanging Coffins &#8211; Your Sagada tour will not be complete without visiting Echo Valley and the Hanging Coffins. Echo Valley serves as a view point if you want to see the famous Hanging wooden coffins of Sagada but if you want to see it closer, the trek involves a moderate to hard hike and a supervision of a local tour guide is required.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-6829" title="A local selling hand woven fabric in" src="http://outoftownblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/04/A-local-selling-hand-woven-fabric-in-.jpg" alt="A local selling hand woven fabric in" width="500" height="281" /><br />
<em><strong>An old lady selling locally <em>woven</em> fabric in Sagada</strong></em></p>
<p>Experience Sagada&#8217;s Market Day &#8211; Every Saturday in Sagada&#8217;s main road, you can buy fresh produce like vegetables, wild blueberries, Sagada oranges or if your lucky, you will also find vendors of hand woven blankets, baskets and other handicrafts.</p>

<a href='http://outoftownblog.com/things-you-should-know-about-sagada/a-local-selling-hand-woven-fabric-in/' title='A local selling hand woven fabric in'><img width="150" height="150" src="http://outoftownblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/04/A-local-selling-hand-woven-fabric-in--150x150.jpg" class="attachment-thumbnail" alt="A local selling hand woven fabric in" title="A local selling hand woven fabric in" /></a>

<p>Miniloc Island is one of the beautiful islands that can be found in the town of El Nido in Palawan. This secluded island was previously an old divers camp that was built exclusively for Japanese and European visitors. Now the old divers camp was turned into a world class green resort that is recognized as one of the best resorts in the world.</p>

<p>It was on a bright sunny day when we arrived in El Nido Town proper &#8211; our jump off point to the resort. We crossed the Taytay Bay to reach the coastal town then we had an almost two hour van ride to El Nido followed by  a short stopover in the El Nido airport. After having our baggage checked, we finally had another boat ride to reach <a href="http://www.hotels.outoftownblog.com/Hotel/El_Nido_Resorts_Lagen_Island.htm">Lagen Island Resort</a>.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-6761" title="Foot Bridge to reach our boat" src="http://outoftownblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/04/Foot-Bridge-to-reach-our-boat-.jpg" alt="Foot Bridge to reach our boat" width="500" height="281" /><br />
<em><strong>Foot Bridge connecting to our boat </strong></em></p>
<p>In less than an hour, we finally landed in Lagen Island &#8211; an El Nido Resorts island property located in the northern part of Palawan. I was totally thrilled when I reached the island which has a green forest further enhanced with the presence of a shallow lagoon surrounded by a limestone cliffs and a rain forest.<span id="more-6753"></span></p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-6762" title="El Nido Airport" src="http://outoftownblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/04/El-Nido-Airport.jpg" alt="El Nido Airport" width="500" height="332" /><br />
<em><strong>El Nido Airport</strong></em></p>
<p>At the entrance itself, I had a warm welcome from the staffs of the resort. The guide told me that there are mainly four types of rooms that are available to choose from. They are water cottages, beachfront cottages, Forest rooms as well as Forest suites. By the name itself, I was more eager to know about the over-the-water cottages that was assigned to me.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-6763" title="Forest Cottages" src="http://outoftownblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/04/Forest-Cottages.jpg" alt="Forest Cottages" width="500" height="281" /><br />
<em><strong>Forest Cottages</strong></em></p>
<p>Unlike the water cottages in <a href="http://outoftownblog.com/my-apulit-island-resort-experience-2/">Apulit Island Resort</a>, my room in Lagen Island was a little bit bigger and the restroom has a huge space too. Aside from the breathtaking view from my private veranda, I was totally impressed with the huge Queen Bed that was provided in the room.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-6764" title="Free Snacks at El Nido Airport" src="http://outoftownblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/04/Free-Snacks-at-El-Nido-Airport.jpg" alt="Free Snacks at El Nido Airport" width="500" height="660" /><br />
<em><strong>Free Snacks at El Nido Airport</strong></em></p>
<p>There were many activities that are available as per the needs of the visitors. Each guest can have a good natural spa in the traditional Filipino hilot massage style or you can enjoy scheduled trips like Scuba diving as well as marine sports and each activity only means fun fun and more fun.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-6765" title="Welcome Drink" src="http://outoftownblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/04/Welcome-Drink.jpg" alt="Welcome Drink" width="500" height="753" /><br />
<em><strong>Welcome Drink</strong></em></p>
<p>We had lunch right after the orientation and just like in Apulit Island Resort, Lunch means Fiesta!</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-6783" title="Garden Fresh Salad" src="http://outoftownblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/04/Garden-Fresh-Salad.jpg" alt="Garden Fresh Salad" width="500" height="281" /><br />
<em><strong>Garden Fresh Salad</strong></em></p>
<p>International as well as local cuisines are available in the buffet table but I opted for the local cuisine to have a good taste of the traditional Filipino style of preparing meals.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-6769" title="Garlic Crabs" src="http://outoftownblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/04/Garlic-Crabs.jpg" alt="Garlic Crabs" width="500" height="281" /><br />
<em><strong>Garlic Crabs</strong></em></p>
<p>After lunch, our room keys were distributed and we went straight to our rooms to freshen up and prepare for our Sunset Cruise. Like the room I had in Apulit, I really like staying in the over-the-water cottage.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-6784" title="Fresh Fruits" src="http://outoftownblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/04/Fresh-Fruits.jpg" alt="Fresh Fruits" width="500" height="281" /><br />
<em><strong>Fresh Fruits</strong></em></p>
<p>Looking at the waters underneath my Cottage gave me an ultimate relaxation. Hearing the silent waves while looking at the the limestone cliffs in the other side of the cove was an awesome experience.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-6770" title="My huge Bed" src="http://outoftownblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/04/My-huge-Bed.jpg" alt="My huge Bed" width="500" height="332" /><br />
<em><strong>My huge Bed</strong></em></p>
<p>I was surprised when I learned that we were just four joining the Sunset Cruise that day. We were transported by a small boat to a bigger Yacht that brought us to the middle of the bay to wait for the spectacular sunset.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-6771" title="Over the water Cottages" src="http://outoftownblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/04/Over-the-water-Cottages.jpg" alt="water cottages" width="500" height="332" /><br />
<em><strong>Over the water Cottages</strong></em></p>
<p>The sun was to shy to show up but at least we had a fantastic sunset cruise. Having a huge boat for just the four of us made us feel like we were so special. The long trip to the resort is really really worth the time. After our Sunset Cruise, we had a fantastic dinner then we took some rest to prepare for our next days activity.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-6772" title="Room Key Card" src="http://outoftownblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/04/Room-Key-Card.jpg" alt="Room Key Card" width="500" height="281" /><br />
<em><strong>Room Key Card</strong></em></p>
<p>We first visited Miniloc Island Resort to have a breakfast. I&#8217;ve been craving for Tocino for couple of days already even before we landed in Palawan and I was so happy to see Tocino in the buffet table.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-6768" title="Lagen Island Resort Infinity Pool" src="http://outoftownblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/04/Lagen-Island-Resort-Infinity-Pool.jpg" alt="Lagen Island Resort Infinity Pool" width="500" height="281" /><br />
<em><strong>Lagen Island Resort Infinity Pool</strong></em></p>
<p>After having breakfast, we had a short tour in the resort then we left the island resort for our island hopping activities.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-6785" title="Wall Climbing in Entalula Beach" src="http://outoftownblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/04/Wall-Climbing-in-Entalula-Beach.jpg" alt="wall climbing el nido" width="500" height="889" /><br />
<em><strong>Wall Climbing in Entalula Beach</strong></em></p>
<p>One of the major attractions that impressed me the most was our visit to the small as well as big lagoon along with the resort guide.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-6773" title="View from my Bed" src="http://outoftownblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/04/View-from-my-Bed.jpg" alt="View from my Bed" width="500" height="281" /><br />
<em><strong>View from my Bed</strong></em></p>
<p>I was happy that I got an opportunity to step out of the boat and get in to water and even though I didn&#8217;t swim, having my feet wet while enjoying the fantastic view was already an amazing experience.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-6774" title="View from my Veranda" src="http://outoftownblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/04/View-from-my-Veranda.jpg" alt="View from my Veranda" width="500" height="281" /><br />
<em><strong>View from my Veranda</strong></em></p>
<p>We headed to Entalula Beach for our lunch. I pretty much enjoyed all the activities in the island except for the wall climbing which I didn&#8217;t tried out.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-6781" title="Entalula Beach" src="http://outoftownblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/04/Entalula-Beach.jpg" alt="Entalula Beach" width="500" height="281" /><br />
<em><strong>Entalula Beach</strong></em></p>
<p>Our lunch was not as huge like what we are having in the resort&#8217;s buffet table but it was equally delicious. Imagine fresh fruits and freshly grilled seafoods in a secluded beach with a calm atmosphere. It was heaven!</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-6767" title="Evening at the Poolside" src="http://outoftownblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/04/Evening-at-the-Poolside.jpg" alt="Evening at the Poolside" width="500" height="281" /><br />
<em><strong>Evening at the Poolside</strong></em></p>
<p>After our lunch, Our guide also took us to Vigan Island which is popularly known as snake island &#8211; one of the major attractions in El Nido.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-6780" title="A short trek in Vigan Island" src="http://outoftownblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/04/Hiking-in-Vigan-Island.jpg" alt="A short trek in Vigan Island" width="500" height="889" /><br />
<em><strong>A short trek in Vigan Island</strong></em></p>
<p>We had a short trek in the islands highest peak to see the white sand bar and the other island including Pangalusian Island Resort which will be launched before the end of the year.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-6775" title="Sunset Cruise" src="http://outoftownblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/04/Sunset-Cruise.jpg" alt="Sunset Cruise" width="500" height="332" /><br />
<em><strong>Sunset Cruise</strong></em></p>
<p>Our tour guide also took us to the Cudugnon cave which is just near Vigan Island. It just consists of a small opening through which one person can hardly get inside.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-6779" title="Cudugnon Cave" src="http://outoftownblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/04/Cudugnon-Cave.jpg" alt="Cudugnon Cave" width="500" height="889" /><br />
<em><strong>Cudugnon Cave</strong></em></p>
<p>The guide said that the cave was formed naturally from millions of years of erosion. It was such a natural architecture that is truly worth visiting.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-6766" title="Afternoon Cruise" src="http://outoftownblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/04/Afternoon-Cruise.jpg" alt="Afternoon Cruise" width="500" height="281" /><br />
<em><strong>Afternoon Cruise</strong></em></p>
<p>Nothing spells happiness than spending a day in one of the most beautiful resort in the world. Just imagine a day with no worries, just perfect relaxation and just simply being one with nature.</p>

<p>After our whole day in Banaue yesterday, we finally arrived here in Sagada. We are currently staying at St. Joseph Resthouse &#8211; located in an elevated area overlooking the entire town.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-6749" title="Holy Smart Tower in Mount Polis" src="http://outoftownblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/04/Holy-Smart-Tower-in-Mount-Polis.jpg" alt="Holy Smart Tower in Mount Polis" width="500" height="500" /><br />
<strong>Holy Smart Tower in Mount Polis</strong></p>
<p>While moving towards <a href="http://outoftownblog.com/spending-holy-week-in-sagada/">Sagada</a> after having a short stopover in Bontoc Museum and lunch in Tsayapan, I noticed a good improvement in the access road. Unlike before, road to Sagada is now 90% concrete and its now convenient to visit this quiet town in Mountain Province.</p>
<p>more stories to come:)</p>

<p>Apulit Island is one of the best places to visit for those who love caves. Travellers will never forget to visit caves whenever they make a visit to <a href="http://outoftownblog.com/my-apulit-island-resort-experience-2/">Apulit Island Resort</a> in Taytay Palawan. Some of the most popular caves in Apulit Island include Bat Cave, Secret Cave, St.Joseph’s cave as well as Lobster Cave and North Cave. Together with Clark, the resorts Marine Sports Guide, we rode a speed boat and started our caving tour.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-6611" title="Bat Cave in Apulit Island" src="http://outoftownblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/03/Bat-Cave.jpg" alt="Bat Cave in Apulit Island" width="500" height="303" /><br />
<em><strong>Bat Cave in Apulit Island</strong></em></p>
<p>One of the major attractions of the secret cave is that the cave can be clearly seen by the naked eye especially at the time of low tides where as the cave disappears during high tides since the opening of the cave will be covered with rising waters. There is a second cave which is interconnected with that of the secret cave. The cave is named as Bat Cave. As the name signifies, the cave is full of fruit bats.<span id="more-6548"></span></p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-6612" title="Bamboo Ladder inside St Josephs Cave" src="http://outoftownblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/03/Bamboo-Ladder-inside-St-Josephs-Cave.jpg" alt="Bamboo Ladder inside St Josephs Cave" width="500" height="281" /><br />
<em><strong>Bamboo Ladder inside St Josephs Cave</strong></em></p>
<p>None of the visitors are allowed to go inside the bat cave mainly owing to smelly guano inside the cave. The third popular cave is the St.Joseph’s cave which is the largest among the five caves in Apulit Island. The cave is so big that it has the capability of accommodating almost a maximum of 60 to 70 people at a time. Travellers can see a rock formation in front of the cave which resembles to that of the saint.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-6613" title="Exploring St Josephs Cave" src="http://outoftownblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/03/Exploring-St-Josephs-Cave.jpg" alt="Exploring St Josephs Cave" width="500" height="281" /><br />
<em><strong>Exploring St Josephs Cave</strong></em></p>
<p>Visitors will be provided with dry bags in every boat that will provide the visitors with space for keeping their luggage as well as prevents the valuable things like camera from getting soaked in water.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-6614" title="Lobster Cave" src="http://outoftownblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/03/Lobster-Cave.jpg" alt="Lobster Cave" width="500" height="281" /><br />
<em><strong>Lobster Cave</strong></em></p>
<p>Lobster cave in Apulit Island allows the travellers to get down and explore. The cave is so beautiful to see that it has been said that the cave has been named after lobsters since people discovered lots of lobsters inside the cave at the time the cave was discovered.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-6615" title="Secret Cave" src="http://outoftownblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/03/Secret-Cave.jpg" alt="Secret Cave" width="500" height="281" /><br />
<em><strong>Secret Cave</strong></em></p>
<p>The wonderful rock formations combined with the emerging sunbeams provides the travellers with an unforgettable experience.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-6616" title="Opening of St Josephs Cave" src="http://outoftownblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/03/Opening-of-St-Josephs-Cave.jpg" alt="Opening of St Josephs Cave" width="500" height="281" /><br />
<em><strong>Opening of St Josephs Cave</strong></em></p>
<p>On the way from the Lobster cave towards the last cave known as the North Cave, visitors will be able to enjoy the scenic beauty of bird watching which is sure to give the visitors an enriching experience.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-6618" title="St.Joseph’s cave" src="http://outoftownblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/03/St.Joseph’s-cave.jpg" alt="St.Joseph’s cave" width="500" height="889" /><br />
<em><strong>St.Joseph’s Cave</strong></em></p>
<p>The last cave known as the North Cave is one of the best caves in Apulit Island. One of the major attractions of this cave is the presence of a small lagoon inside it. The blue as well as green hues of the water will leave the visitors with a thrilling experience.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-6619" title="Small Lagoon inside The North Cave" src="http://outoftownblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/03/Small-Lagoon-inside-The-North-Cave.jpg" alt="Small Lagoon inside The North Cave" width="500" height="281" /><br />
<em><strong>Small Lagoon inside The North Cave</strong></em></p>
<p>There is an inner cavern in the backside of the north cave. The inner cavern is best known for providing romantic couples with a candlelit dinner. It will be set up accordingly as per the request of the clients.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><img class="alignnone size-full wp-image-6617" title="Inside The North Cave" src="http://outoftownblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/03/Inside-The-North-Cave.jpg" alt="Inside The North Cave" width="500" height="889" /><br />
<em><strong>Melo inside The North Cave</strong></em></p>
<p>The candlelit dinner inside the inner cavern in the north cave is sure to give the first time visitors especially couples an unforgettable memory that they can cherish inside their mind forever.</p>

<p>The Philippines has always been known for its picture-perfect coastlines and warm, clear, blue waters.  With all these beaches to choose from, how can one discover something different for a summer retreat?</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><img class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-6486" title="Apulit Island Resort in Taytay Palawan" src="http://outoftownblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/03/Apulit-Island-Resort-in-Taytay-Palawan.jpg" alt="best resort in taytay palawan" width="500" height="281" /><br />
<em><strong><a href="http://outoftownblog.com/my-apulit-island-resort-experience-2/">Apulit Island Resort</a> in Taytay Palawan</strong></em></p>
<p>Well, all it takes is a chartered plane and boat ride to take you to a secluded spot cradled between limestone cliffs intricately carved by the forces of the earth and water. It’s where the mountains meet the sea and where the shore is just as stunning as the hidden lagoons.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><img class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-6488" title="Apulit Island Resort - View of the Bay from the Water Cottage Verandah" src="http://outoftownblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/03/Apulit-Island-Resort-View-of-the-Bay-from-the-Water-Cottage-Verandah.jpg" alt="apulit resort in palawan" width="500" height="333" /><br />
<em><strong>Apulit Island Resort &#8211; View of the Bay from the Water Cottage Verandah</strong></em></p>
<p>The place is El Nido Resorts in Palawan—a three-island destination that takes you to an eco-touristic sojourn within one of the country’s most beautiful and unspoiled natural wonders.  Apulit, Miniloc and Lagen all bear the Philippine’s tropical trademark, but each has its own distinctive features that stand out from the commonplace.<span id="more-6485"></span></p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><img class="aligncenter size-medium wp-image-6489" title="El Nido Resorts Activities - Kayaking at the Big Lagoon" src="http://outoftownblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/03/El-Nido-Resorts-Activities-Kayaking-at-the-Big-Lagoon-500x334.jpg" alt="best resorts el nido palawan" width="500" height="334" /><br />
<em><strong>El Nido Resorts Activities &#8211; Kayaking at the Big Lagoon</strong></em></p>
<p><strong>Apulit Island</strong></p>
<p>Featuring 50 over-the-water cottages, <a href="http://www.hotels.outoftownblog.com/Hotel/Apulit_Island_Resort.htm">Apulit Island Resort</a> is the choice getaway for both intrepid and novice adventurers. Set within a pristine cove with panoramic views of Palawan’s horizon, Apulit Island is far from the glossy nightlife that most beachcombers inevitably end up in. Instead, you are taken to a resort with an endless stretch of a white-sand beach lined with coconut trees. Here, you can go diving, swim with blue-spotted sting-rays, sail across one of the island’s widest coves, or simply enjoy languid days on the beachfront.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><img class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-6490" title="Lagen Island Resort Swimming Pool" src="http://outoftownblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/03/Lagen-Island-Resort-Swimming-Pool.jpg" alt="lagen resort palawan" width="500" height="303" /><br />
<em><strong>Lagen Island Resort Swimming Pool</strong></em></p>
<p><strong>Miniloc Island</strong></p>
<p>On the northern tip of Palawan is Miniloc Island, El Nido’s eco-adventure playground. The island, tucked within a beautiful backdrop of mountains, limestone cliffs, caves, and lagoons is centrally located to access the numerous eco-adventure sites. From island-hopping and sight-seeing to spelunking and kayaking through the most picturesque lagoons, Miniloc Island takes you through a definitive tropical adventure unmatched anywhere in the country.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><img class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-6491" title="Miniloc Island Resort - Boardwalk" src="http://outoftownblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/03/Miniloc-Island-Resort-Boardwalk.jpg" alt="miniloc island hotel" width="500" height="335" /><br />
<em><strong>Miniloc Island Resort &#8211; Boardwalk</strong></em></p>
<p><strong>Lagen Island</strong></p>
<p>Nestled between a lush four-hectare forest and a calm lagoon, Lagen is a tranquil, private island that offers an experience of pampering and relaxation with its luxurious accommodations, private gourmet dinner offerings, and its signature <em>hilot</em> massage. Set against a backdrop of the most dramatic El Nido sunsets, the surrounding forest and breathtaking limestone cliffs are natural attractions that serve as sanctuary for a wide variety of flora and fauna. It is a place where guests would be able to intimately observe these endemic creatures in their natural habitat.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><img class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-6492" title="Miniloc Island Resort - Cove" src="http://outoftownblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/03/Miniloc-Island-Resort-Cove.jpg" alt="Miniloc Island Resort - Cove" width="500" height="335" /><br />
<em><strong>Miniloc Island Resort &#8211; Cove</strong></em></p>
<p>Whether it’s sailing across the island’s most beautiful cove, conquering Palawan’s caves, or exploring the most beautiful lagoons, you get to enjoy it all in the midst of the most picturesque tropical settings.</p>
