Festivals, Philippine Festivals, Philippines, Travel Tips — By melo on January 22, 2010 9:01 amA tourism leader and member of the executive committee of the Baguio Flower Festival 2010, Anthony de Leon lauded the classification of the annual event by the Department of Tourism (DOT) as one of Philippines’ best events.

Panagbenga Festival in Baguio City
Earlier, Philippine Department of Tourism regional director Purificacion Molintas said that during the Cabinet meeting here, DOT officials revealed that the Panagbenga Festival is the biggest tourist drawer to this city especially during the summer months.
The festival which has been going on for the whole month of February about 14 years ago has been attracting an average of one million domestic and foreign tourists who are enthusiastic with major activities like float parade, streetdancing, trade fairs and arts contests.
De Leon agrees with the observation of Molintas that the first quarter of this year has been marked by the increase of foreign tourists such as the more than 200 Europeans who dropped by last week in their Asian cruise.
He said that the forthcoming flower festival will be made to be among the best editions of the event called “Panagbenga Festival 2010” which will be marked by more participation of groups and institutions not only in the island of Luzon but also from the Visayas. (PNA)

Baguio City’s Panagbenga Festival gets better every year.
Baguio City Boy´s last [type] ..Whats Happening Inside Baguiophoria!
Watch the Pasadena Roase Parade during New Year’s day every year and one cane learn from it. It should be Panagbunga festival not Panagbenga. Bunga entails ‘fruit’, thus panagbunga meant “to bloom”. Thank you.
