Davao City : Home of the World’s largest Eagle

It’s our second day in Davao and since we hired a Toyota Van, we decided to visit the Philippine Eagle Center in Malagos Davao City. It has been more than five years since I last visited this park and I saw a lot of improvements.

The trees have grown and the place looks like a well maintained man made forest with a beautiful landscape. They constructed a film center where Philippine Eagle documentaries can be viewed, its intention is to build awareness for the conservation of “Haring Ibon” (Philippine Eagle). Continue Reading

Cebu Guitars – More than just a Cebu Souvenir

Learning how to play guitar is one of my greatest frustration. I bought a guitar from Cebu a couple of years ago for me to be more inspired to take guitar lessons. Sad to say, I still don’t know how to play guitar till now.

When we visited Cebu to cover Pasigarbo sa Sugbo Festival a couple of weeks ago, I suggested that we include a Guitar Shop or Guitar Factory tour in our itinerary.

Aside from the fact that Cebu is a popular source of locally hand-crafted guitars, I believe these local guitar makers needs to be promoted more since our local music shops are now full of cheap and mass produced China made guitars. Continue Reading

Cebu Taoist Temple : A Quick Stopover

Its probably my third time to visit this Chinese Temple but each time i visit Cebu, I always make sure to visit this Taoist Temple to enjoy the fresh air and the fantastic birds eye-view of Cebu City, Mactan and Bohol islands.

The temple has an elevation of more or less 300 meters above sea level and you need to take 99 steps in order for you to reach the main temple. Oh! Well, not an easy walk but the view is truly rewarding. Continue Reading

Pasigarbo sa Sugbo Festival 2008 Winners

Philippine Travel Blog together with Byahilo.com and Justwandering.org recently covered the 2008 Pasigarbo sa Sugbo Festival last August 9,2008. Covering Festivals is definitely not new to me. I’ve been covering festivals in different cities and provinces in the country since 2002 but i stopped when i started working early 2006.
